Watermelon & Strawberry Summer Smoothie

As the days get hotter and our hydration requirements increase, this smoothie is arguably one of the most refreshing ways to start the day. Watermelons are packed full of natural electrolytes and contain an impressive 92% water. Combine this with fresh juicy strawberries, fibre-rich chia and flaxseed and full-fat live yoghurt and you’ve got yourself a deliciously nutritious and balanced breakfast in under 5 minutes.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh watermelon (seeds included for an extra crunch, or remove for a smoother consistency)
2 cups fresh strawberries
small handful spinach leaves
2 tbsp full-fat Greek or coconut yoghurt
50- 100ml unsweetened almond milk (depending on desired consistency)
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp flaxseed
squeeze lime juice
1 tbsp mint leaves
1 scoop unflavored/unsweetened protein powder (optional)


Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender or processor and blend until smooth.

  2. Pour over ice and serve.
